پرتابه‌ای است که با نیروی عکس‌العمل ناشی از خروج گاز (معمولاً ناشی از سوختن سوخت) حرکت می‌کند. در موشک ماده اکسیدکننده نیز به همراه سوخت حمل می‌شود و سوختن سوخت در آن نیاز به اکسیژن هوا ندارد. از این نظر موشک با راکت و فشفشه فرق دارد.
